Love in Mist of War-plot-by Joshua Dotson

I have not published this post, despite having it as a draft years. Here it goes!
Plot to first book- {right now it is not titled, and neither is it's second}.

The stories follows Sailor Charles Kingly, Lady Elizabeth, Captain Arthur Macdonald, and will possibly include others.
The story begins with Charles Kingly  arriving home one late night from work and uniting with his uncle, Aubrey. From there it switches over to Lady Elizabeth whom is pressured by her mother to marry the arrogant Lord William of Nottingham.  Duke Lewis, Elizabeth's father also approves of this, until Lord William acted unchilvarious to her in the  the library. Lewis orders the lord to leave immediately  for he tries tries to make Elizabeth show love to him in the library. Lewis orders the lord to leave immediately  for he now disapproves of him and differs his opinion over the lord in comparison to his wife. William walks out angrily.
That night Elizabeth states what she looks for in a man. The next morning they go to church, as does Charles and his uncle. After service Elizabeth flies by him as her bonnet falls, he picks it up and brings to her it. Their glances meet, they discuss the sermon. She hands him a locket with a string of her hair in it as a token of her favor.  Instantly they henceforth forever on adore each other.
After service Charles and Aubrey are invited to the Anglican Bishop's home where they meet another man sitting at the houses table, whom the bishop introduces them to by the name of Captain Arthur Macdonald. The captain turns out revealing upon finding them trustworthy and familiar with work at sea that he wants them to join his special crew of the WHITE EAGLE to go on voyage to Morocco and find gold there in a certain city according to his map. He was under special order of the king to find a crew and go southwards. The map has been given to him by the royal officials who have been given it by British crews that have sailed southwards to find gold. 85% of the money from the Moors is to be given to the king. All else is to be split among st the crew, and any gold they find elsewhere, perhaps upon raiding enemy ships will be given to them.
Charles is shocked that he has been asked and quickly excepts. He thinks it all sounds dangerous but thinks it is worth a try to save him and his uncles' life from debtors prison. Aubrey does not go because of his injured leg and warns his nephew not to go but Charles is insistent about going.
That evening he ventures to the Yorks house and states before the duke and duchess his interest in Elizabeth
and how he wishes to marry her. He states his plans of finding enough wealth to provide for. Lewis is fond of the sailor but thinks it unrealistic that gold will ever be found like this. The duchess shows her clear disproval of him and say that her daughter will marry a a suitable man of wealth and value. She orders him off. Charles respectfully departs as Elizabeth looks at him in the window in confusion that he now would be leaving. Next morning she is told by her mother that she will never be allowed to marry him. As she ruses up to her room crying she notices her father doing queer work outside with some high class gentleman  Then they shut the door, and from there she does not know what they are up to. Every day she sows and listens to boring conversations, of a nearby neighbor none as Mrs. Pinhead, but as soon as the woman is asleep Anne tries to find out to what her father is doing.
As all this happens Charles Kingly says goodbye to his uncle and aboards the WHITE EAGLE. They sail south in what feels a long voyage across a sour sea. Many nights of wild tails of sea monsters and mermaids does Charles listen to. One misty night, they are attacked by a ship none as the BLACK HAWK. Vastly outnumbered they are defeated. As their ship goes down, Kingly swims with the wounded captain to shore. They use a small tower on the island as a means of defense. They try contacting the British at the other side of the island but they are cut off from doing this as the pirates surround them in their fort. They kill off many of their attackers. The pirates give up the fight lay siege on them. The next morning a Spanish ship arrives and sends the BLACK HAWK by its means of cannon fire into the depths of the sea.The pirates go running off.
The WHITE EAGLE's crew sends up their  banners to call upon the Spanish to help them, but as soon as the Spanish realize they are British they refuse to help since a battle took place between the two several years before and so it sails away, leaving the abandoned. But all hope is not lost for another British was sent after them since they did not return in time. They aboard it and sail to Morocco  through a series  of more adventure with fighting and hiding from the Moors they eventually find chests of gold in a cave near a southwestern beach. The king of the land sends an army after them but they escape in time and set sail to return to England.
As this happens, Elizabeth discovers that her father has lost everything from gambling and bad investments in the ''secret group.'' He soon announces to his family that he will lose everything. He soon collapses and dies of grief. Duchess Anne now tells her daughter that they will lose all they have if she does not marry Lord William  Under such pressure Elizabeth writes a letter to him that she will marry him now if he wants endless God intends otherwise. But Charles arrives with a lump of gold that pays for Elizabeth's debts. Her mother refuses to be payed off by a ''poor sailor boy'' and rather goes to debtors prison than except this humiliation to her. Elizabeth embraces Charles and writes to Lord William of her coming safety an that she could never marry him for all the gold in the world. Riding down in a white carriage , Charles and his uncle are now dressed in luxurious suits, and Elizabeth in a white chemise dress. They now come into a gateway towards a large and beautiful house that Charles has bought for them all. Charles personally takes the hand of her and leads her to a high balcony. She asks him how he did it all and he replies, ''I guess there's just somethings that men can do that women cannot.'' He proposes to her and as a bright smile with red cheeks on her face blush she excepts with all her heart.  So ends the first novel.

It should be noted that the second book is not for sure to be. Plot to second book-

The first book plot will end with Charles Kingly proposing to Lady Elizabeth and her accepting him in marriage.
The second book will follow Admiral Arthur Macdonald (he has been promoted for his heroism in the first book), Charles and Elizabeth kingly as well as possibly a few other British sailors. Unlike the previous book, the second will expand of a much broader range. It will go through Africa and Oceania, specifically Australia. The story will begin with Charles and Elizabeth preparing for their wedding. As this happens, Admiral Macdonald sets sail southwards to south Africa, to join with a host of other British ships on a sea voyage to Australia to go in search of lost ships at sea sent from the mother country, that have not been heard further about. Their journey will take them through the Indian Ocean and upward into India itself where they will encounter secret mysteries in the pagan tombs.
Meanwhile, on a cold night in York, Charles and Elizabeth walk together, planning for their wedding and honeymoon. Suddenly, in the street they are overran by a group of bandits who are a crew of pirates and take them to their ship at the coast. They are forced down below deck, where they are chained. On the island of Azores, they are handed over to an illegal fort. Locked in a cage, Charles is said to be fed to wild beasts in a few hours. As they tease him outside his bars, Elizabeth at another stage of the fort is threatned by them and is told that they will have her look upon his face as it is being eaten. Unlike the previous novel, she finds herself more into action than before. She puts on a smile and acts to be in love with one of the stupid pirates once all the others are gone. As her pretty face tricks him, abruptly she takes hold of a pistol from his belt and orders that he do what she says. He refuses until she points the gun closer and has him follow in fear to what she orders. At night, he opens Charles' cage and as Kingly comes out, he chains the fellow and stuffs his mouth with dirt. Then he and Ann embrace each other. He asks her how she did it. She replies, "I guess there are just some things that women can do that men can't ". Throughout the night, they have a hard time finding their way out as buccaneers patrol all around. To avoid being seen, Elizabeth switches over to a sailors uniform as she follows Charles out. Together they quietly board and overrun a barely defended ship. They do not return to England, but instead follow after the ship that brought them there. Sailing down from Azores, they nearly catch their foes at Cape Verde, but arrive just a little late. However, from the inhabitants they hear of rumor from the people there that all such ships come southwards. From this rumor they sail further south and by their arrival in South Africa they inform some head Naval officers there, of these raiding ships now coming in various different places. An Admiral there promised to help them and speculates that they are somewhere in Australia, since his own seamen had heard common reports of ships sailing from that direction. He bids that they stay until he and his crews are ready, but Charles states the route that he will take so that the fleets will know where to find him and Ann. They set off on their ship again and journey eastward. They follow a ship one night which leads them onto a remote beach on Australia. They anchor their ship and said a dingy to the island. They come in sight of a fire where they see a circle of pirates talking and discussing their next place to raid. From behind, pirates take them captive and tie them to a tree. They take both at first for men since both are in Naval uniforms and since Elizabeth has her hair covered away under a hat.
But soon a pirate named Boss Buckteeth uncovers her gender, and with his eye set upon her, swears that he will have her for his own. She spits in his face.
A while north Admiral  Macdonald and his crew have discovered a chain of pirates working together in Australia by his me breaking the codes in India. A map of the pirates location is found by a pirate that they slay. They sail southward and join with other fleets coming from South Africa, and Arthur hears from them of Charles and Elizabeth's journey. All the fleets now set off together for the west of Australia, to find them and the lost fleets. They soon find Charles and Elizabeth captive. At sea a great battle takes place between the British and pirate ships. Bombarding from cannons goes back and forth. A group of navy men sail to the island with their dingys and rush ashore. The navy men set Charles free who quickly grabs his sword and rushes after the captive fort. With the support of navy men he breaks in and kills Boss Buck Teeth. James Swilwert falls mortally wounded also. Charles breaks in with the support of his companions. He cuts loose Elizabeth's bonds. From outside, the enemy groups are showered down by gun powder from the fleets. Many of the pirates are killed, captured, or run off, apparently never heard of again. Their living leaders are hanged, and the gold from them is distributed to everyone.
Fireworks soon go off. That night, there is a great feast held with singing, dancing, and laughter.
As everyone fills with smiles, Charles and Elizabeth look quietly at each other in their torn naval uniforms. Their glances do no hesitate in looking at each other as fireworks go off from behind them. Then they hold each others faces glimpsing, looking still into each others eyes. Charles proposes to her again, she accepts more gladly than ever.
Upon their return to England,  they embrace Aubrey Kingly. A grand wedding is soon held. Charles, no longer  the poor man that he was, is now in a nice gray suit and Elizabeth in a golden chemise dress with a fabric of silk. They share a common desire, to live a quiet life together so they decide to sail to America together.

I am now making a change to the above plans, the wedding will be in the first book, not the second. Otherwise, the 2nd book while hopefully still being written to come, is no longer on my plan list, and the story maybe much different than the one above.

*a chemise was a French dress in this period

*a golden dress was used for the bride at weddings
