The Third Crusade Series

As Kings and Crusaders began the saga, continuing with The Storming Rage, and then The Final Journey, now the Third Crusade Series will end with one last book, The Return of the Heroes.
I had mentioned doing a sequel trilogy on Richard I's return to England.  But this sequel trilogy I have decided to make one book[ it's like three smaller books now in one volume.} This book, which I have already written about will go from 1192 to 1219. King  Richard the Lionhearted of England, Queen Berengaria of England,  Sir  Peter de Preaux, King John Lackland of England, Sir William des Roches, King Phillip Augustas of France, Sir William Marshal, and King Henry III of England will all find important places here. I thought that this series was going to be completed at The Final Journey. I was wrong. The Final Journey ends where this story pretty well begins. I have come to realize that the third crusade doesn't necessary end in 1192, but at King Richard's return to England in 1194. I have greatly enjoyed starting the book.

Church Fathers On War

Although it is made out to look, that the church fathers were pacifist, this is clearly not true. Augustine of Hippo's teachings on war for example inspired the crusaders. The church fathers abided by Thessalonians on passing down the things which the apostles taught them from one church father to the other. So therefore they are considered doctors of the church, and also serious interpreters on scripture.  The Old testament and the 13th chapter of Romans, I believe also support war.

"Although one is not supposed to kill, the killing of the enemy in time of war is both a lawful and praiseworthy thing. This is why we consider individuals who have distinguished themselves in war as being worthy of great honors, and indeed public monuments are set up to celebrate their achievements. It is evident, therefore, that at one particular time, and under one set of circumstances, an act is not permissible, but when time and circumstances are right, it is both allowed and condoned"
 St. Athanasius of Alexandria

Writings can be found of other church fathers. St. Augustine of Hippo, St. Jerome, St. Thomas Aquinas, and John Calvin all supported a just war.
Martin Luther hear falls contradictory. Luther opposed the crusades and war and believed that Christians should not use self defense. He believed the Turks were God's wrath on Europe. But as the Muslim Arabs drew closer to an invasion on Europe, in his own time, he began to change his mind and decided that self defense could be used.

Return of the Heroes

I have good news, I just completed Kings and Crusaders Part One 2nd draft{ there are three parts in the first book.} But as for now, I will began my next book about the crusaders return from the holy land, including Richard the Lionheart's imprisonment by Leopold V, Duke of Austria. Meanwhile, Prince John of England and King Philip of France plot against Richard's return. But Sir William Marshall, a knight in England remains loyal to the king.
John stirs his plots but will be backfired on in time, with the Magna Charta.  And much more will unfold then here mentioned.
 Return of the Heroes
This book continues my Third Crusade Trilogy. More on this book will be heard of soon!
